FormorrowPrivacy policy
Formorrow is a strength training log for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android, made by Willow and The Wren, LLC. This policy covers all of these apps and this website.
The short version
Formorrow has no account, no sign-up, no server, no ads and no analytics. It sends nothing to us or to anyone else. Your log stays on your device. We do not sell, rent or share your information, and we do not track you.
What we collect
Nothing. We have no server, so there is nowhere for your information to go.
Your log
Your workouts, exercises, sets, ratings, comments and notes are stored on your device.
- iPhone and iPad. If iCloud is on, your log syncs between your devices through your own iCloud account. Apple handles this under Apple's privacy policy. We cannot see it. Heart rate never syncs through iCloud. It stays on the device that recorded it, and reaches your other devices only through Apple Health.
- Apple Watch. The Watch app sends the sets and cardio you log on your wrist to your iPhone. It talks only to your iPhone.
- Android. The log stays on your phone. Android's own backup may copy it to your Google account, as it does for most apps.
- Backup files. A backup file is made only when you ask for one, and it goes where you choose.
Health data
Formorrow uses Apple Health on iPhone and Health Connect on Android only after you turn it on in the app.
- What it writes. Each workout you finish, with your exercises and sets, distance, heart rate from a monitor you pair, and an estimate of active calories when no Apple Watch records them.
- What it reads. Heart rate, and workouts that other apps saved, so you can add one to your log. It also reads your latest weight, and on iPhone your age and sex, to estimate the calories of a workout.
- Apple Watch. When you start a workout on the Watch, it asks for access to Apple Health. During the workout it reads your heart rate, and distance during cardio. It saves cardio you start on the Watch to Apple Health, like any other watch workout. With Apple Health on in Formorrow, it also saves your strength workout.
Health data stays on your device. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared. Formorrow changes or deletes only the records it wrote. You can turn these choices off in Formorrow's Settings, or remove access in the Health app or in Health Connect, at any time.
Bluetooth
Formorrow uses Bluetooth only to find and read a heart rate monitor you pair, such as a chest strap. It connects to nothing else, and it never uses Bluetooth to find your location. On Android 11 and earlier, Android requires location access for any Bluetooth search. Formorrow still never reads your location.
FIT files
When you import a FIT file from Garmin or another device, Formorrow reads it on your device. When you export a day as a FIT file, the file goes only where you send or save it.
Optional details
On Android, you can enter your year of birth and sex to make the calorie estimate closer. They stay on your phone.
Permissions
The apps ask for access only when you use a feature that needs it: Apple Health or Health Connect for your workouts; Bluetooth for a heart rate monitor; and notifications, so the rest timer can tell you when rest is over. On Android, a notification also shows while a workout or rest timer runs. You can turn any of these off in your device's settings.
This website
formorrow.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no files from other websites. Cloudflare hosts the site. Like every web host, it sees the address of each page it sends and the IP address of the device that asks for it.
Children
Formorrow is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The apps collect no information from anyone.
Deleting your data
Delete a workout in the app, or delete the app, and that data is gone from that device. On iPhone and iPad, remove Formorrow's iCloud data in your iCloud settings. Remove the workouts Formorrow wrote in the Health app or in Health Connect. On Android, remove the system backup in your Google account settings. We hold no copy.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
